I was lucky enough to be sent this item to test and review. Lovely selection of richly pigmented and creamy pencils. Great colours. They lay down and blend very easily. They are amongst my favourite pencils to use.

I have been a pastel pencil artist for many years and decided I wanted to move to colouring pencils. This Stag is my first piece using Castle Arts and I mixed the Soft touch and Gold range together and, I must say, I am impressed. I found the colours easily blendable, very good with the tombo and putty erasers and excellent for layering. It works a dream with the slice tool to gain depth of fur. I am impressed at the quality of Castle Arts products and would highly recommend, feeling they are on par with the more expensive brands I have just ordered the pastel soft touch set as well. I can't comment on light fastness yet as my picture hasn't had the test of time.

I have been using Castle Art products for many years, & never been disappointed, everything I have ever used, has been 100%. The new colour gold pencils just glide & are effortless to use & blend beautifully. I am always recommending Castle Arts, because you get value for money.

These pencils are of excellent quality, work well with my other oil and polychromos pencils. Blend well, good coverage, and a good number of shades in this set.

Happy with purchase nice pencils lovely colours

I began colouring in adult books during lockdown. I needed pencils that were smooth, colourful and not prone to breaking. I tried many other brands beforehand but Castle Arts Gold were the best I've used so far. I am no expert by Amy means, but the quality of the pencils outshines all other brands.

Just by researching good quality products and competitive prices together cwith other brands.

Lovely texture, layer very well and keep a nice sharp point. I compared them to my polychromos pencils and they are ever so slighly worse performing, especially when it comes to blending, layering, and colour payoff on black paper. That being said, they feel very similarly when you use them, and at half the price of a 120 polychromos set, you really cannot complain.

I read up online about these pencils...after using prisma for years I was a little sceptical but the moment I put pencil to paper I was instantly impressed. Bold, immense blendabilty and saturation and best of all the leads don't break every two minutes. I will be recommending these to all my tattoo artist friends.

Golden set pencils are very soft and easy to blend, I loved them a lot, and even ordered another set. Also, I always extremely enjoy all Castle Art packaging - cases, beautiful tins, manuals and broshures.

I’ve not finished doing this picture yet but have been using the gold pencils. They are amazing to use. They blend fantastic and are smooth to use on the paper

First sketch using Castle Arts Gold 120. Never used oil based pencils before but would certainly repurchase. Colours are great and went down smoothly, blended out with just tissue. I am looking forward to using more often. Only minor issue was117 pencils sharpened really well to a fine point, but 3 with breakage issues. Otherwise excellent quality product.

This is my second set of Castle Gold pencils. I love the first set so much I purchased a second set to future proof my need! They are still my favourite pencils, I use them all the time. You will not regret buying these, they are such good quality and value.

I love the brand anyway but the gold are something else. Dare I say they remind be of prismacolour premiere. I can't recommend enough without gushing. Thank you cafe art for all the extras too. Pencil case and literature and pads with different papers. It's great to see a brand that actually likes it's customers!

I'm a total beginner with only 3 weeks drawing/sketching under my belt, I stumbled into what is now my passion and spend hours upon hours each day drawing and sketching, I finished the picture you see today using castle arts gold pencils, there is 8 layers of browns,yellows and oranges to make his colour right although the light dont do it justice but I have more of the same on my Instagram which I just created (dr.harris.art) check me out if you want to see my progress and I will post each day, I would love to have you onboard :) .... Back to the pencils, they are like butter and blend and layer so well I 100% recommend them all the colours are extremely vivid and pop, they sharpen to a point nicely and theres every colour you can think of and then even more because they blend to create more shades lol, amazing quality and the after sales team are outstanding also a truly caring team who will go above and beyond for their customers :) thanks guys I will certainly be back for more :D

I purchased the Castle Arts Gold set and the Pastel coloured pencils in January, 2022. The pastel pencils were excellent. Had a few problems with some of the pencils from the ‘Gold’ set but your Customer Care Service team replied immediately to my email and their courtesy and reassurance was 5 star. I love the colours and smooth lay down of the pencils and can not fault Your Customer Care Team who arranged a replacement immediately. Thank you so much for looking after your customers !! These are the 4th set of pencils I have purchased of Castle Arts pencils and love them. Nice and smooth and blend well. The scanned colouring doesn't do justice to the colouring. Lovely pencils

I ordered the Castle Arts Gold 120 piece pencil set in pencil case during the boxing day sales, I already own the Castle Art Soft touch 120 piece set and was excited when I saw they had developed an oil based set of pencils so when they were in the sale I treated myself! When my pencils arrived sadly the exterior packaging was beaten up where the courier had treated my parcel without care and my pencils arrived with most of the cores shattered :( I contacted Castle Arts who were fantastic, they asked for photographs to show the damaged pencils and then promptly offered a replacement set of pencils sent via a different courier to ensure they arrived safely! The customer service from Castle Arts is exceptional and you can clearly tell they actually care about their product and customers. The only issues I have experienced are due to couriers treating parcels with utter disrespect. Castle Arts are really easy to contact and communicate with and you are always treated with respect and courtesy - this is something I very much respect and appreciate. In the time I have been using the Gold pencils they feel and perform quite differently to the soft touch series. The Gold pencils are smooth and almost buttery to work with. The colour lays down smoothly and with good pigment. You can vary the depth of colour easily dependent on the pressure you use and the pencils layer beautifully. As the Gold series is oil based you can layer the pencils far more than you can do so with the soft touch series as you do not encounter the dreaded wax bloom! (This isn't a fault of the soft touch series though it is just a quirk of wax based pencils honestly - and the soft touch pencils still layer wonderfully. I very much enjoy both sets but use them in different ways.) I am very impressed with this set of pencils in particular and I am very thankful that Castle Arts sent me a replacement set so that I can enjoy every colour in the set! (PS this photograph does show the first set of pencils which did arrive damaged - you can see how short some of the pencils are after the first time I sharpened them but this is not a fault of the pencils it is due to the courier throwing the parcel around carelessly! I now have a perfect set of pencils to enjoy and I am super thankful for this!) I would definately reccomend Castle Arts both for their great product and impressive customer service!

I now have 3 packs of 120 cases of pencil. I’m just waiting to treat myself with the pastel tints.

Love these pencils. Excellent colours and brilliant quality but the customer service is second to none. My original order got lost in transit. After contacting customer service I was put straight on the replacement list. Once they were back in stock they arrived within 2 days of dispatch. Well done castle arts.

Having bought the metallic 48 set I just had to try your standard colours. Having seen the Gold set I decided to splash out and they are great. The colours are vibrant and blend well.all so a great shout out to your customer service team. First class service thank you.

I questioned whether I needed these. I have several sets of coloured pencils already, but no oil based ones. These are great for building up dense, vivid layers of colour.

Lovely pencils that you can vary the shade by how hard you press. Vibrant colours with very smooth application. Haven't tried blending yet as there are so many shades. Only criticism is it could have done with a bit of padding in transit, several pencils had completely broken points

Just absolutely love these pencils. I have many many different brands, some much more expensive than these but these are now my favourite. They cover and blend excellently, and come in a wide range of colours in a lovely case. Comes with A5 sketchpad and tutorials

I bought this for a Christmas present for my daughter so can't comment on the product itself but it looks good quality and as an artist myself I'd like to think I know quality products when I see them. Great price for them and recieved the order in a couple of days. I'm sure my daughter will love getting creative with them!

I was blown away by the quality of these pencils. The whole package was well thought out. I really love that there is a choice of tin or zipped pencil case & the information booklet was excellent. There are plenty of colours which are vibrant and easy to use I never thought I would find any pencil that was equally as good as Faber-Castell but without the price tag. These pencils are great value for money & I would highly recommend them

Beautiful presentation, only slightly spoiled by my Alizarin Crimson (087) being broken. Otherwise, it's all lovely.

I already had the 120 soft touch, the 72 watercolour, portrait set and drawing set, so when I saw a new set was out I thought, "do I realisticly need more?" I decided I didn't need that negativity in my life and went straight for them! I didn't even read about them other than them being oil based so when I opened the wallet and found all the pads and the swatch chart, I was chuffed. I've only had the smallest amount of use so far, but loving them up to now.

Castlearts pencils are just simply the best. They blend so easily and lay down on paper so well. The colours are vibrant and there's plenty of variety. Would definitely have these to everyone

The first set of castle gold pencils there was a slight fault in 3 of the pencils kept breaking because they didn't do open stock I had the whole package replaced brilliant aftercare service

I passed on my existing set of Pencils and upgraded to the Golds. I use these pencils as part of my process including ink, and digital. I love the colours and they allow me to get that last bit of hands on so that each print is unique.

Loved the pencils used them alongside some Fc poly chromos I already had. Great to use. Soft and really blendable. Good clarity and colours are bright. Well presented too

Bought these pencils as I liked the look of the colours from the picture and the fact they were more of an oily based pencil than a wax based pencil. I received my delivery very quickly very well packed and I tried out the pencils straight away. The colours are vibrant and rich, they blend beautifully, and they sharpen really well with both my cylinder sharpener and my to T’Gaal Sharpener.
