How to Draw | Shading Light & Shadow With Charcoal

Categories: Charcoal

Tutorial Length: 16m 48s

In this video from Castle Arts we show you how to draw, shade and experiment with light sources and shadow by drawing a series of three goblets. Using charcoal from the 40 Piece Premium Quality Drawing Set we produce three goblet illustrations. The first illustration is a top lit goblet, the second a side lit goblet and the final illustration using is three-quarter lit. You can also download an A4 PDF tutorial which guides you through the techniques used to shade and blend the illustration. The PDF also includes a pencil sketch outline of the gargoyle so you can print out and practice as many times as you like.
